PUNGRYU HAKDANG風流學堂 · L DANCE COMPANY

風流學堂 · KOREAN TRADITIONAL DANCE

A living tradition,
carried in every step.

At Pungryu Hakdang, we learn the dances passed down to us—and the care, discipline and generosity that give them life.

Led by Hong Mose, Pungryu Hakdang and L Dance Company bring teaching, practice and performance together. Our work begins in the studio, with attention to breath, rhythm and one another.

OUR APPROACH

Learning the dance.
Practising a way of being.

Gratitude, love, humility, service and harmony guide our life at the academy. They take shape in ordinary moments: listening to a teacher, returning to a difficult movement, and making room for the dancer beside us.

We study the detail of traditional Korean dance—from a grounded step to the pause between gestures. Through steady practice, each dancer learns to carry the tradition with understanding and to share it with others.

AT THE ACADEMY

Breath, rhythm and the art of attention.

01

Learn

Our teaching repertoire includes Seungmu, Salpuri, Taepyeongmu and Sanjo dance. Students work on the movement, musical phrasing and character of each dance.

02

Practise together

Group practice asks us to listen beyond our own movement. Shared timing, spacing and breath allow individual dancers to become an ensemble.

03

Carry it forward

Performance and the records we keep are part of transmission. L Dance Company brings this practice to the stage, while our archive holds photographs, programmes and reflections.
